I was watching a speed paint one day when I saw the artist use a tool that allowed her to select an area around the boundaries of the lines.  Much of the time spent on pictures is used to carefully make sure I don't color out of the lines or blend over them.  Seeing this new technique (well new to me anyway) made me go looking for a new painting program.  The program she used was called SAI, so I looked that up first but you had to pay for it so I continued looking.  Eventually I discovered that PAINT.NET, one of the more popular free painting programs, let you draw a border for your selection area, which was the best thing I could find so I downloaded it.  While testing out the tools I discovered that the "magic wand" tool was exactly what I was looking for.  I seemed to recall that there was a magic wand tool on TwistedBrush Open Studio but it wasn't a magic wand selection tool, instead it was a masking tool, so I still needed PAINT.NET.  However, PAINT.NET doesn't have another important tool I use, the blender.  So from now on, I'll probably need to use both programs to quickly and effectively make pictures.  Maybe I'll buy a full program later, an ideal one would be one like twistedbrush but has a magic wand selection tool.  Until then I'm thankful for what I have, and before I buy a program I want it to be compatible with the Drawing tablet I plan to get.

At last, the next generation of Pokemon games have been announced.  This time, the went back to basic colors instead of precious stones and metals.  They are Pokemon Black and White.  We still don't know any other gen 5 pokemon other than Zorua and Zoroark, but these games APPEAR to be for the Nintendo DS.  If this is true, than that means that they break the trend of each generation being on its own generation of consoles.  'Pokemon Black' and 'Pokemon White' Announced as the 5th Generation Games!

In other news, I had my wisdom teeth pulled out last Friday, I'm playing Heartgold and Soulsilver to no end, and I enjoyed Easter very much.  As for art, I'm going to work on 's contest, maybe finish a Dark Spyro picture I started about a month ago but put away and pretty much forgot, and then I'll do whatever else I'm in the mood for.

Well, today was my BIRTHDAY!!!!!    And it was a pretty good one too! (even though it was on a Monday)  I had my actual party on Friday with my friends.  We went bowling, then came home for cake, video games, and TO ACT LIKE COMPLETE BUFFOONS!   Then, today we opened my presents, and ate a family favorite icebox cake (or as they call them now, refrigerator rolls). All in all, I had a great birthday!

At last... I got something up here!!!!!!! The charmander wasn't originally intended to be my first artwork, but I made it and decided "Hey, why not?"  It's been several months since my last journal and a lot has changed since.  For one thing, I recently developed a taste for electronic music.  I don't know why, but I did.  Also, I seem to have a lot more homework then I did before...whatever.  Also I signed up for Track/field, but only one other person signed up so I don't think I'll be running this year. It's a mixed bag really, I'm kinda disappointed, but at least my schedule won't become hectic and I was actually dreading track because I would have almost no time with my increasing amounts of homework.  Funny how God works that way, He can make a bad thing a blessing.  Anyway, I've been doing pretty well and I'm glad I could finally get something up.  As a side note... does anyone else think that it's weird that D.C. is getting more snow then they can bear, but up far north Vancouver doesn't have enough snow for the Olympics?  What are the odds?

I'm sorry I haven't uploaded any art yet!!!!  I just, well, haven't yet.  I've been drawing, yes, but I just haven't made anything I want to put up yet.  I dunno.  It'll be my first post when I do, so I kinda wanna put something special, or of at least a little significance.  Maybe I'll draw a picture of Lugia and Ho-oh for the upcoming Heartgold and Soulsilver games.  I've also been busy with school, and I've been working hard on getting a five-star trainer card in Platinum before HGSS comes out.  So, I'll put something up, eventually.  Just be patient.  Oh, and in case you were curious, I usually draw in a manga style of drawing so when I do upload something, it'll probably be something like that.  Oh, well.  Anyways, I've been doing pretty well, God has been giving me countless blessings, and I hope you guys are doing well too!
